In the short time that Pearl has been with us, she has learned so many things. The first and the biggest thing she learned was to trust us. This was huge for Pearl.
She weighed about 700 pounds and now weighs 1023. She is absolutely beauty. Her first lesson in ground driving was quite eventful. She was wild and crazy and afraid of Leslie. She would not even take a horse cookie from her after the lesson. By the third lesson she was beginning to figure out what Leslie wanted from her and taking the horse cookie. She has learned to ground drive and work with a side pull (a bit less constriction bridle) I have ridden her bareback and with a saddle without bucking. Leslie is an amazing horse trainer to watch and listen to. She never uses any violent techniques. She allows the horses to make the choice to follow her instructions or lunge around the round pen. She now follows Leslie around the round pen without a halter and obeys the command that Leslie has asked for. If anyone would have told me that Pearl could be where she is at in this short period of time, I would have never believed it. Leslie is truly a very gifted horse trainer. Now we are working with her feet. Her last experience with the farrier was not a pleasant one.
