Horses and Riders – Work and Play
R&R New Options Equine began with a hope of making the world a better place by helping horses who where being abused. Teaching them to trust and showing them that people could be good.
Over the years, it became all to clear that a lot of the abuse came from lack of knowledge. People did not understand that to deal with a horse you have think like a horse because they cannot think like a person. New Options came up with a new thought maybe we could help the horses and the horse could help teach the people.
We began with horse handling classes for people who wanted to volunteer to help care for our ever growing heard. People from all walks of life and worked together as a team doing everything from bucking tons of hay for winter out of the fields and into the barns to cleaning stalls and grooming horses. Horses helped teach people to get along and help each other. The horses give pride to those who were unsure of their self worth. Our kind and gentle animals help give aid to the disable hope to the lost and joy to those who have never known happiness. We at New Options give thanks to all of the volunteers, those who have given support to us and those who will.
If a statue in the park of a person on a horse has both front legs in the air, the person died in battle; if the horse has one front leg in the air, the person died as a result of wounds received in battle; if the horse has all four legs on the ground, the person died of natural causes.
